environmental remediation restoration erosion control

Why Pine Straw?

  • erosion control -
use where grass won't grow to hold soil; great for sloped areas
  • longevity -
doesn't float and wash away and breaks down more slowly, so it doesn't need to be reapplied as frequently as some products
  • lightweight -
easily handled and lighter per cubic foot than some products; one of our bales covers as much area as 30 cubic feet of some mulches!
  • simple -
easy to apply: just unroll and scatter by hand
  • sustainable/natural -
no harvesting of trees to produce and it's organic
  • cost -
cost per square foot competitive with other products
  • soil health -
breathes better, doesn't compact, and allows for better water infiltration
  • plant health -
adds organic material and nutrients to soil and reduces weeds
  • visually appealing -
the uniform color and fine texture brings out the color, contrast, and texture of the landscape
  • pest free -
    doesn't attract termites

SPECIAL NOTE:

All of the shipping companies charge based on the size of a package as well as the weight of it. Although pine straw is not really heavy, it is bulky. Our bales are compressed for shipping, but we

are still charged close to a 50 pound flat rate shipping charge due to size. We charge you what we

get charged. However, you will find that even with the shipping charges what they are, we can ship

pine straw right to your door at prices that are very competitive with other premium mulches.
